Grease is the word [Jan. 22nd, 2007|09:04 pm]
Obligatory Grease Post

Its a musical. We will find out the leads in the next 4-7 years. Pretty qualified people will probably be chosen as leads. Maybe there will be a Sandy. Sometimes, when you are thinking about Grease and your mom is looking for a cruise of Greece, things can get confusing. Like, why does she want my impressions on Grease if I didnt even, like, audition? Oh, she means the country? I am very pro-greece right now.

I took a really hardcore nap this afternoon, where you wake up from a really deep sleep and are entirely unsure of what day it is, you know?

anyway, I had a dream that I went on some wild car chase and wound up in Sewanee, where I immediatley regretted not applying. So I woke up suddenly, went downstairs, and applied to Sewanee w/o telling anyone. If I get in, it'll be funny trying to convince my parents I didnt even apply.... so how did I get in?!?! Actually, same with a rejection letter.

I want sprite.

Things I am happy about:

1. getting sick. seriously. Although the not-being-able-to-move stomach ache was bad, sleeping 17 hours was totally worth all the late gades I will get, since "I was sick!" is no longer a valid excuse since the dawn of email.

2. ramen noodles + saltines + sprite = total comfort foood

3. Back episodes of scrubs, colbert report, and 6 feet under tivoed

4. being able to get in the McCallie play weeks later.... its as if I couldn't graduate without one more show.....

5. chapel talk friday + my obsession w/ picture boards (its going to be bad)

6. Snow king coming up! and that the board now wants copies of the Spectrum!

I just requested all my transcripts (one slipped through the cracks.... whoops) and I had this huge, "Oh. These are the schools I'm applying to" moment. Like, crap. I will be one of these nine places next year. And lets be realistic, I can cross off three of them right now.

So lets make that one of these six places next year.

Even wierder.

Plus, these are the last 4 days of high school that actually count.

Tres bizarre

This is the most ridiculious name I've ever heard:

Svavar Hrafn Svavarsson

I'm currently reading a piece he wronte on the irony of Catullus 49.

On a happier note, This American Life from Chicago Public Radio has a podcast now! This has opened doors to the world of podcasts, so I am busy subscribing to various podcasts as hey, they're free. When I should be reading the wise words of Svavar Hrafn Svavarsson.

Public Service Annoucement:

Bats can bite you in your sleep and you won't feel it or see the bite.

If you find a bat in your room, have it tested immediatley for rabies. 2 of the 3 deaths from rabies in the past 50 years have involved people being bitten in their sleep and not knowing to get the rabies shot.
